About This Author

Howie Shute served as a global missionary in the Church of the Nazarene for 15 years as field director/field strategy coordinator for the Horn of Africa and as assistant to the regional director. His responsibilities included church multiplication and development throughout the African continent. During his tenure, a multiplication of Jesus-followers and churches took place in a number of gospel-resistant African countries.

In 1989, Howie graduated from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, with a master of divinity degree. In April 2012, Howie was honored with the doctor of divinity degree from Africa Nazarene University in Nairobi, Kenya.

Before answering God’s call to mission service in Africa, he was a manufacturing executive and a pastor.

Howie currently serves as the lead pastor at the Victory Hills Church of the Nazarene on the Kansas City District, USA.
